Synopsis

It begins with a black family, the Freemans, settling into the fictional, friendly and overall white suburb of Woodcrest. The perspective offered by this mixture of cultures, lifestyles, social classes, stereotypes, viewpoints and racialized identities provides for much of the series' satire, comedy, and conflict.

Description of Sarah DuBois:

Sarah DuBois is Tom's white wife. She is comfortable about their interracial marriage even when Tom is mocked for it, as in "The Trial of R. Kelly". She even jokingly says to Tom, "I told you about messin' with them white women". Sarah and her daughter are Usher fans, which makes Tom jealous. Several episodes imply that Sarah is sexually frustrated. When Tom gets jealous over her flirting with Usher at their anniversary dinner, Sarah selfishly and cruelly threw him out of their house.
