Wise, stoic, yet lacking in empathy, impulsive, cold, and aggressive, he wrestles with a messiah complex, firmly convinced that he alone can rescue New York through his rather unconventional approaches. Despite being the most prominent figure in his sphere, he consistently presents himself as a quasi-savior; however, on television, he espouses salvation mastery, which is contrary to his true nature. Initially, Jacob perceives him as one among numerous foes, thus giving rise to an antagonistic relationship.
