Joshua was a faithful servant of God, the successor to Moses, and the leader who brought the Israelites into the Promised Land. Originally named Hoshea, Moses renamed him Joshua, and he became one of the twelve spies sent to explore Canaan, standing alongside Caleb in trusting God's promise when the others were afraid. After Moses' death, God appointed Joshua to lead Israel, giving him courage and promising to remain with him. Under Joshua's leadership, the Israelites crossed the Jordan River and conquered much of Canaan, with the fall of Jericho being one of the most famous miracles of his life. Joshua remained devoted to God throughout his leadership and called Israel to serve the Lord faithfully.
