Daniel was a faithful servant of God who was taken from Judah to Babylon as a young man during the exile. Despite living in a foreign kingdom surrounded by pagan practices, Daniel remained devoted to God and refused to abandon his faith. God gave him wisdom and the ability to interpret dreams and visions, eventually raising him to positions of great authority under several kings. Daniel is especially remembered for continuing to pray to God despite a royal decree forbidding it, leading to his being thrown into a den of lions, where God miraculously protected him. His life is a powerful Christian example of unwavering faith, courage, and trust in God even under persecution.
