Still ridden with guilt over not being able to save his friend Harvey Dent, Batman is pitted against a mysterious figure who is rubbing out Gotham's most dangerous criminals, and who many believe is the Caped Crusader himself. If that wasn't enough, Batman's alter ego, billionaire Bruce Wayne's long-lost love Andrea Beaumont, who nearly helped him recover from his need to avenge his parents' death, returns to Gotham with hidden intentions -- meaning that his crime fighting days may be over.
