Synopsis

Gotham is only beginning to recover from disaster, and Bruce Wayne must fight a covert battle on two fronts, as both philanthropist and vigilante. An ecoterrorist is captured by GCPD with the assistance of the Batman, averting another disaster, but secrets are revealed while they are interrogated in lockup. Two Gotham corporations are attempting to sabotage one another, another attack is imminent, and a hitman has been called for one last job... to finish the last of the Wayne family, like they were paid to do years ago.

Description of Victor Fries ('Mr. Freeze'/Joe Chill):

A mysterious hitman who is responsible for almost a hundred murders, though the trail has gone cold for years. His illicit payments were spent trying to find a cure for his wife, and when that failed he was left with just guilt and directionless rage. He operated under several cold-related pseudonyms, including 'Joe Chill'. When Bruce discovers this, finding this 'Mr. Freeze' becomes immensely more personal. Just as the Reeves-verse take on 'The Riddler' owed much of its direction to the Zodiac killer, this version of Mr. Freeze takes inspiration from infamous real-life contract killer Richard Kuklinski, 'the Iceman'.
