  • jakubduda Jacob is a young man from the Czech Republic who always loved America and knew everything about it, he was a patriot of the USA who respects all American traditions despite the fact that he lived in Europe. He always had a dream to go to the US and live like the characters in his favorite movies. Now everything is complicated and he feels that he is no longer at home in the Czech Republic and that it is time for a change even though his grandfather tells him that he is not now and that he is still young and that he should take it easy and find a girlfriend and settle down. Jacob promises that he will come back soon and visit them as soon as he finds a job and earns some money. He says goodbye to his family and flies away. That's just the beginning of the movie. Jacob arrives and interviews and immigration await him and he tries to get a green card. He will be employed at Levi Strauss & Co. as a marketing manager, which is exactly what he did in the Czech Republic for this company. There he meets a beautiful, cute and slightly goofy colleague Bea. Jacob falls in love with her and she helps him get his citizenship and in return he gives her a box of cookies every morning that she ate for him on the first day, not knowing that they are not actually from the store but that he bakes them for her. Bea has a boyfriend but he ignores her and doesn't care about her, on the contrary, Jacob does everything for her and likes to spend time with her. Bea is happy with him and over time discovers that she loves Jacob. And she gets very jealous when another colleague, Monica, starts noticing Jacob. Jacob gets to know Bea's mother at lunch and eventually her father, a fiercely American-loving patriot, the classic Texas cowboy that Jacob always felt he was, and her father has a lot of questions about her friend. Jacob manages to impress both of them. Bea finds out that Gus is cheating on her with their colleague Molly. Their boss, Trevor, buys a new camera and decides to make a video of everyone as a talk show. When she's filming with Jacob, she talks about Bea. Trevor decides to show the interviews to everyone on Friday at the work movie party. When it comes to talking to Jacob, he prefers to leave and Bea finds out that Jacob loves her and runs after him with tears in her eyes. And he confesses his love to her and she to him. In the end, he passes the tests and gets citizenship and travels to Bohemia with Bea to introduce her to her family.
