Another example of the mutagen from Dimension X at work, Leatherhead began life as a simple baby alligator who was kept in secret as a pet. Eventually forced into the sewers by his owner's parents, he became exposed to mutagen, then was found by Krang's troops and experimented on, until he escaped. Helped by the Turtles, particularly Michelangelo, Leatherhead now helps his new friends fight his oppressors along with other mutant allies, the Mighty Mutanimals! Even if he is very intelligent, Leatherhead can snap into a rage befitting his original form, and is very vicious with his claws, tail, and bite.
