Based on the hit 1987 animated series, Hamato Yoshi, an honorable master of the ninja arts, fled to New York City after losing his beloved wife Tang Shen to death at the hands of Oroku Saki, Yoshi's dishonorable archenemy in addition to losing control of the Foot clan. Shortly after being found by his ex-clan mates, Yoshi retreated to the sewers, only to find four baby turtles covered in mutagen and gets covered in it himself along with his young twin children, Kenshin and Miwa. Taking on the form of a mutant rat named Splinter and raising the turtles in addition to his own children, Yoshi taught them ninjutsu in the hopes of restoring his dishonored name and surviving the sewers of New York. However, when his children save the lives of famous news reporter Shelia Gonzalez and Moon Lotus kunoichi Crystal Turner from the Purple Dragons street gang, their lives change forever...
