In Zack Snyder's adaptation of Injustice, the story unfolds in a dark alternate timeline where the Justice League is torn apart from within. After the Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane and their unborn child, Metropolis is obliterated by a nuclear explosion. Devastated and consumed by grief, Superman abandons his moral code and imposes a brutal authoritarian regime to enforce global peace. Batman opposes Superman’s rule, forming an underground resistance of heroes and villains who refuse to submit to the regime. As the conflict escalates, former allies become bitter enemies, and the world becomes a battlefield between two factions of the Justice League. Themes of loss, power, and moral compromise dominate, as the line between hero and tyrant blurs until the fate of humanity hangs on the choices of a few.
