Synopsis

Actor/Martial Arts enthusiast Johnny Cage strives to be the next big thing in Hollywood although Hollywood doesn't seem to see anything in him and has been regarded as a "show-off" and isn't taken seriously, Johnny wants prove himself to both Hollywood and the rest of the world that he's a legitimate fighter and a megastar, Johnny may potentially get his opportunity when he gets invited to a fighting tournament that is claimed to have some of best fighters in the world participating in it and the name of the tournament is....Mortal Kombat.

Description of Lord Raiden:

Raiden in his pursuit of recruiting fighters to fight for Earthrealm discovers that Johnny Cage is joining the Mortal Kombat tournament, he confronts Johnny about what the tournament is actually about and offers him to be a member of his group of his defenders.
