Meanwhile, at the *Daily Planet*, Clark Kent investigates Metallo’s backers and uncovers a corporate network leading to Lex Luthor, the city’s most admired benefactor. Torn between his life as a journalist, his relationship with Lois Lane, and the public's growing fear, Clark must prove that being Superman isn't about invincibility, but about choosing kindness when no one demands it of you. In the end, Metallo falls, but Lex comes out unscathed—smiling in public while secretly recovering a strange probe that has fallen from space.
