user_95831 I feel like a lot of these guys, especially Lithgow and Williams [who are still amazing actors] would only make the character feel overly comedic or eccentric and rely on the context and actions to see him as villainous. Michael Sheen is the best choice there because he would meld the eccentricity neatly with sadism and a level of sophistication so the character wouldn't be as one note imo.
