Clark Kent’s boss, Perry White, sends him to Phoenix, Arizona, to report on a sighting of an unidentified flying object. When Clark gets there, he finds that it’s more than just a sighting—A farmer has collected a strange machine made of unknown materials.
When Clark gets too close to it, the object causes him pain, suggesting that it’s Kryptonian in origin. When he gets back to Metropolis, Lois Lane is mad at him, because Clark often has to break dates with her to save the world. (Lois is unaware at this point that he’s Superman).
