Fan Casting General Sam Lane in Superman 4

Ever since Superman revealed himself to the public, Sam has been distrusting of him, even going as far as supporting Lex Luthor, despite Sam’s own daughter’s hatred of Luthor. Sam and Clark have never really seen eye to eye either, and even less so after he decides it’s time to tell him that he’s Superman. Sam’s trust is at an all-time low. But when Earth’s defenses appear to have no effect on Brainiac’s invasion, Sam puts his and Superman’s mutual love of Earth before his feud, and puts all his trust in him, and when the time comes, he makes the ultimate sacrifice to protect his daughter.
