(First appeared in Invincible #1 in 2003 and was created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker). Mark Grayson was the son of the Viltrumite male Nolan Grayson and his wife the human female Debbie Grayson. As he grew up, his father told him about his Viltrumite background and that he would one day develop powers similar to his own. When Mark was working, he threw a trash bag that happened to fly far into the air, signaling that he had gained his powers. A friend of his father's named Art Rosenbaum designed him his superhero costume. When he fought a bully at school, the principal scolded him, telling him that he wasn't "invincible", thus giving Mark his superhero name.
