Toad has become good friends with Tails in captivity. When Tails' plan to tick Knuckles off to escape wasn't working, he stepped up and began shouting at Knuckles, telling him it was his fault his family died, and taunted that he doesn't;t understand a word he's saying because he's a stupid, gullible knucklehead, so he'll have to dumb it down to his level: "Duuuuuhhhrrrrr." Everyone was shocked that the smallest person in the cage had that much insulting power. Afterwards, Toad apologized to Knuckles about the things he said. He never meant a word.
