Bowser has taken Princess Peach hostage and plans to marry her. Mario attempted to fight him, but was defeated and had his hat torn to slices. Mario landed in the Cap Kingdom and has his hat restored by a hat-like ghost creature known as Cappy, who has also been attacked by Bowser and has had his younger sister Tiara taken away from him. As a result of Cappy taking the shape of Mario’s old hat, he now has the ability to capture anything it latches on to. Now Mario and Cappy must now find the airship known as the Odyssey and stop Bowser and his Wedding Planners Wario and Waluigi from getting their way and save Peach
