Sunset Boulevard
dark comedy
A fading silent film star descends into delusion and obsession in 1950s Hollywood. Norma Desmond, a reclusive former actress clinging to her vanished glory, ensnares an ambitious young screenwriter into her decaying mansion on Sunset Boulevard. As he becomes her kept man and script doctor, he discovers her twisted fantasy: a comeback vehicle that will restore her to stardom. Trapped between her volatile moods, her devoted butler's sinister loyalty, and his own moral compromise, the writer watches helplessly as Norma's grip on reality fractures. Dark comedy mingles with tragedy as ambition, manipulation, and madness collide in Hollywood's glittering underbelly. The story explores the corrosive price of fame and the dangerous allure of reinvention, building toward a shocking, inevitable reckoning.
