Reason, why Noah is Lillian's ex-boyfriend. In childhood they're were best friends. In teenager ages they had crush on each other, and later become couple, but after events of 1983, Lillian should move on from Hawkins (it's not because of cheating or arguing, it's just because Steve become object of gossip). After Lillian's move on, Noah was mad at her. He thinks that she despise Hawkins, but Lillian is return, because she would help her brothers (Steve and Luke). Noah became a nanny for the younger ones (possible coincidence with Steve). After events of original series they're still close to each other and they're still best friends, but they're not planning restore their relationship.
