Fletcher's grandfather in the movie with Fletcher. Bernie is Ida's husband. Although Fletcher's grandfather never existed in the 1997 original, this is a fan-casting idea to add to the remake. Best to have a comedic actor to play the role. Bill Murray could be a good fit for the role. Robin Williams could be better for this role if he was still alive. Rest in peace, Robin Williams.
