Synopsis

the Clone Wars involve a three-year war after the battle of Geonosis and fought to prevent thousands of planetary systems between the Galactic Republic and forming the "Confederacy of Independent Systems", often referred to as "the Separatists". The Republic uses an army of Clone troopers, the namesake of the conflict, led by the Jedi Order against the Separatist Battle Droid army across the outer rim core worlds.

Description of Darth Sidious:

After killing Darth Plagueis, Darth Sidious takes the title Sith Lord and orchestrated events to achieve galactic domination, the decimation of the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. He trains his first apprentice, Darth Maul from the planet of Dathomir during the Trade Federation’s invasion on Naboo. A former Jedi Master Dooku after the fall of his Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn prior to the spark of the Clone Wars.
