With a new Galactic Empire rising from the ashes, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Darth Talon, and Darth Caedus, the former Jacen Solo, conquer planets all throughout the Galaxy. Heartbroken over his son's betrayal, Han attempts to convince Jacen to return to the light side, but is unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Ben Skywalker, and Jaina Solo recruit Ezra Bridger to help them defeat Thrawn once and for all. The heroes prepare to launch an attack on the unsuspecting New Empire, but Darth Caedus kidnaps Luke's wife Mara Jade and attempts to turn her against her family, fully aware of her past with the Empire. Luke, Ben, Jaina, Han, Chewie, Lando, Ahsoka, Ezra, C-3PO, and R2-D2 race to save Mara Jade from the clutches of Thrawn, Talon, and Caedus but the sinister imperial forces have been made aware of their plans, leading to a battle of life and death, good and evil.
