Set in the fictional kingdom of Mewni, the film revolves around Star Butterfly, the princess of the kingdom, as she returns to it where she learns from her two parents that a now robotic Ludo is attacking it. In order to save her kingdom from being destroyed, she will have to use all the power inside of herself and her wand, as well as help from Marco and her other friends.
