Synopsis

These are actors who were considered for roles in Star Trek before the actors we know were cast. This is not counting recasts where an new actor takes over an established role such as Robin Curtis taking over the role of Saavik from Kirstie Alley. Description of Noonian Soong:

When Data's creator Dr.Soong was going to be introduced, along side Data's brother Lore, it was initially thought Spiner playing 3 roles in one episode would be too taxing on him. So they wanted to go with Keye Luke, who had appeared in the original series of Star Trek, but he was too ill so they went with Spiner.
