Character Description

Early on they had not decided on the gender of Janeway so several men auditioned. They quickly decided on make her a woman. Bujold was cast and filmed about a day and a half of scenes before her and the producers realized she was not right and so went back to one of their other finalists, Kate Mulgrew.
