What If Story
In an alternate universe, Warner Bros. wants to make a Superman movie but doesn't know who to approach to. After seeing his work in 2001: A Space Odyssey, Warner Bros. approach director, Stanley Kubrick to direct and write the film. Kubrick agrees to do it, but under one condition, if he could also direct The Shining. They agree to have him direct it, and Kubrick makes his Superman film.
