Synopsis

Lloyd Forger is a former career soldier, a Captain in the US Army Rangers who rose from the enlisted ranks and fought in the Korean War. Instead of going to Vietnam for his next assignment, he was sent by the CIA to Germany for counterintelligence operations against the Soviet-occupied Eastern front. In the process, he has to contend with complications from upper brass within his spy network and formation of his little "family" of operatives.

Martha is the butler of the Blackbell family and personal aide to the heiress Becky. Before attending to the Blackbells, she was an OSS agent who took trapped Allied soldiers to safety back to friendly lines during World War 2.
