Description of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic):
He secures the Symbiote in Mexico and proceeds to experiment on it. He determines that Symbiotes originate in the Dark Dimension. They're interlopers on various alternate Earths. (This suggests the Symbiotes from the Raimi movies, Venom movies, and this one all come from the same place.)
