Peter Parker's late mother was yet another of the great hallucinations he still had, the woman was always more than she seemed. Mary, Fitzpatrick by birth and Parker by marriage, may have died alongside Richard, her husband and Peter's father, but not as an accident as everyone argues it was; after all, the seven-headed serpent never let his enemies go free for long and certainly elite agents/spies were the type that bothered the 'serpent' the most.
