Al Simmons was a high ranking CIA Assassin who got killed and incinerated in cold blood. He made a deal with the Demon Lord, Malebolgia to see his wife again and was resurrected 5 years later as a demonic soldier of Malebolgia, a Hellspawn. Al is a conflicted character, he has a Noble heart but is troubled by his past and his demonic existence, wanting to do good but seemingly fated to be a force of evil, Spawn is an anti hero
