Expect the usual antics that are anticipated either before or at the prom, such as trying to convince someone to be your date, someone spiking the punch, two girls dressing in the same gown, someone being turned away for whatever reason, there's someone who wants to ruin it for everyone else and of course couples hoping for Their First Time or some characters may be obsessed with getting "lucky" on prom night. Some may get an unintended Prom Baby. While it is similar to a homecoming dance, this trope usually has more lasting significance to it.
