A pregnancy which the bearer keeps hidden. The mother may decide on keeping it "mum" for a few weeks or months; in extreme cases, she may give birth secretly and spend years without divulging. Usually she'll have at least one Secret-Keeper, to help her maintain the ruse (and possibly raise the child, after birth). The father may or may not know, but the key of this trope is that the world at large does not. Pregnancy and gestation can usually be hidden at least for a couple of months, but actually going into labor, giving birth, and possessing a child needs very clever finagling - which is why many bearers take a convenient "vacation" around the due date.
