The Beta Couple is present in the backdrop of many Romantic Comedies and Dramas with The Hero of the story looking at wooing their Love Interest. The purpose of this second relationship is to provide a narrative Foil, showing a "what might be" in the form of close friends who have a remarkably conflict-free relationship.
