Dubbed "The Ultimate Life Form", Shadow was originally created by Gerald Robotnik with the DNA of Black Doom and is the end result of Project Shadow. He was held in captivity for fifty years before Doctor Eggman released him and since then has become one of Sonic's fiercest rivals, even matching him in terms of speed. He has proven to be rather arrogant and often prefers to work alone.
