Sonic Riders (ソニックライダーズ Sonikku Raidāzu?) is a racing video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and the first entry in the Sonic Riders series. The game was developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube and PC to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Sonic franchise. The PC version wasn't released in Japan. The storyline follows Sonic and his friends competing in an Extreme Gear racing tournament hosted by Dr. Eggman. Along the way, they also cross paths with a trio group called the Babylon Rogues.
