Mario comes to mobius to meet Sonic the hedgehog, do to bowser taking princess peach and plotting revenge with Mario. Robotnik, and all his minions team up with bowser, bowser Junior, Larry, Morton, Roy,Lemmy, and Ludwig to team up against Sonic Mario and the rest of their friends. While all of that is happening Mephiles, scratch and grounder were fired again right after failing to capture and destroy sonic and all his friends.
