After the events of the last movie with Silver Sonic and the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic struggles to tell Amy his feelings, Knuckles decides to separate himself from his friends and guard the unguarded Master Emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. Mighty and Ray have their own adventures too. But Sonic, Tails and Amy now investigate the mystery of the Chaos Emeralds. Dr. Robotnik has secretly rebuilt Metal Sonic, the original one from the first time, but only so he could dissect the original and use his parts for Mecha Sonic MK III. Metal Sonic escapes and is never seen again. But Robotnik has copied the schematics and data from Metal Sonic and put it into his new robot. He also built a Metal Tails to replace Tails Doll, since Robotnik still has the data it collected from the last film. AFter he upgraded Metal Knuckles, he sent Mecha Sonic, Metal Tails and Metal Knuckles 2.0 to hunt down Sonic and his friends. Meanwhile, Fang, Bark and Bean try to make amends to Robotnik by kidnapping Ray while Mighty was asleep. But those troublesome trio don’t stop there. They distracted Knuckles and took the Master Emerald so they could give it and Ray to Dr. Robotnik. Knuckles rejoins Mighty on a mission to bring them back, with the help of new friends named Vector, Espio and Charmy. Sonic, Amy and Tails were attacked and Mecha Sonic captured Amy! Now everyone must join together to unlock the Chaos Emeralds’ secrets, save Amy, Ray, and the entire world.
