Synopsis

A maverick British officer leads a squad of crack shots on special operations in the Peninsular War against Napoleon's occupying forces in Spain and Portugal. Lt Richard Sharpe has been promoted from the ranks for saving the life of Sir Arthur Wellesley. Sent behind enemy lines, he meets a beautiful female guerilla.

Description of Captain William Frederickson:

Older and grittier than Sharpe, commands the Royal American Rifles. He is of German and English descent and speaks both languages fluently, is competent in French. Suffered a serious facial wound which has destroyed his left eye, broken his jaw, knocked out several teeth, and caused nerve damage giving him an uncontrollable and permanently smug look. Is bald and wears a wig made of horse hair.
