Valérie serves as Ranzou Kihara's secretary as a favor by her father Pierre Lafontaine, the lead scientist for Orion who had worked for Ranzou for a long time up until his death several years prior. Valérie was sent by Ranzou to the Sentoki tournament to watch over the newcomer Nixon, and to make sure that the Ikushimas would never go far in the tournament.
