It's unknown if a scene with King Kong was made, but he was cut due to licensing issues or time constraints, or if his mention had always been intended. Either way, a character akin to King Kong does appear in the opening credits of The New Scooby-Doo Movies, though it's unknown if this character was taken from this episode or not. I in vision him going after Daphne just like Kong did with Ann. During the Snow Beast's episode Daphne is chased then is grabbed, taken back to its lair.
