Despite her last name, Kayla Charming is an ordinary teenager, as obsessed with magic as she is with witchcraft. Things change when she discovers a magical key that opens a new world where Monster Island comes to life. After adventuring in Monsterland, Kayla discovers that she is a half-human-witch hybrid and comes from a magical family: Mike Charming is her long-lost father. Mike is the director of Halloweenland Academy, where seven monster families teach the next generation of monster teenagers to become heroes. Now Kayla is learning to use her magic and live up to her famous surname, along with new friends including Andy van Hauntley and Briar Zombie.
