Synopsis

A retelling of the legend of Mulan but set in Late Imperial Rome, during the barbarian invasions. In this series, Antonia runs away from her abusive relatives who are forcing her to marry a nobleman. Disguised as a boy, she unintentionally joins an assembling Roman army setting out to save the declining Western Empire from the German invaders, with aid from the treacherous Huns.

Description of Flavius Ulfila:

Giselric's rebellious son and former general of the Western Roman army. He helped Ulysses rise to power as a usurper in an attempt to destroy the bureaucrats that corrupt the Western Empire. He also allows the Germanic tribes to enter Rome, not because he needs an army but because he wants to save his fellow countrymen from Mogui, whom his father is allied with.
