Fan Casting Dr. Ian Van Helsing in Rupert Sanders' Van Helsing

A professor of mythology and author of Myths and Folklore of Europe. Ian is a warm, intellectual, slightly absent-minded scholar who smells of "pipe tobacco and textbooks." He is curious, adventurous, and gentle—a man who believes scary stories teach us about ourselves. He brings his wife and son to Romania to research a stone circle, unaware that he is walking into a trap. His murder, alongside Eleanor's, sets the entire story in motion.
