When a powerful organization discovers its existence and seeks to seize it, Harland is forced to flee with his two androids, Curtis (a bitter, world-weary android) and Sophie (a more advanced, positive android). As they cross a country that has learned to live with the disease, the three discover that true humanity depends not on blood or circuitry, but on the people we choose to protect.
