A faithful re-telling of the Rankin/Bass classic TV special. Tensions in the North Pole rise as an imminent snowstorm causes the panicking elves at Santa's Workshop to a toy crisis that would result in the Island of Misfit Toys. Meanwhile Rudolph, a young reindeer with a shiny red glowing nose is born. Banned from reindeer games for fighting the other reindeer who made fun of him, and disappointing his tough-loving father Donner, Rudolph runs away from home. Along the way he meets Hermey the Elf who wants to be a dentist, and an unsuccessful miner Yukon Cornelius who all travel to the Island of Misfit Toys and must return to Santa's Workshop to find the toys a new home. Can Christmas go on while the storm hits? Will Rudolph save Christmas?
