Synopsis

Teenage orphan Carly Sullivan encounters Dick Grayson at the cemetery one day, little knowing that this event will lead to him taking her in–and under his wing. Against his mentor's wishes, Dick trains her in fighting and introduces her to his friends, and she becomes a member of the family, attending school and forming her own group. Eventually she decides to leave Gotham and break out on her own in Blüdhaven, meeting a group of teenage misfits and forming the Outsiders, with Red Hood joining up later. She quickly develops a knack for solving other people"s problems (through violence if need be) and becomes a for-hire detective/bodyguard, working alongside her teammates and friends.

Description of Brenda Cumming:

The stereotypical "mean girl" at Gotham Academy. Was once friends with Carly but suddenly abandoned her shortly before the death of her family. When they meet again six or seven years later nothing has changed; Brenda is still nasty toward her and does whatever she can to make her life difficult, such as "stealing" her crush and getting her brand new motorcycle sent to the dump. Upon Carly's visit back to the school, she seems to be struggling with maintaining her grip on both her boyfriend and her social status; however, she's still as mean as ever.
