Victor Zsasz was born into a wealthy family. By young adulthood, Victor became the head of his own international company and had amassed a large personal fortune of his own, until his parents died, leaving him into depression as well as losing all his fortune to the Penguin. When robbed at knifepoint when contemplating suicide, Victor took the knife from the homeless man and killed him, leading him to become a deadly serial killer, seeking to "liberate" people from their pointless existence, tallying his marks as cuts on his body.
