Born in Quad Cities, Iowa, Jack Wheeler was a former star collegiate football player whose budding career was destroyed by an untimely injury, leading him to drop out and join the Marines. After returning home, he began to take night classes, where he would meet his fiancée, Claire Smith. When Claire was killed due to her secret Mafia ties, Jack took it upon himself to seek justice for her. Donning a hockey mask, his old football jersey, and various armaments, he took to the streets. By day, he's a mechanic. At night, he's Wild Dog, hunting down criminals to bring peace.
