Karshon once was a prowling tiger shark until he had been bombarded with radiation courtesy of an experimental atomic pile detonating. Millions of years of evolution led Karshon to change, gaining powerful mental abilities, with his purpose still being to seek prey. Taking on a humanoid form, Karshon took on the alias T.S. Smith, but better became known as the Shark, aka Shark Man. Years later, he was experimented on and enhanced by the Kroloteans, and has once again battled Hal Jordan's Green Lantern, but he escaped from the Kroloteans' ship, and still is on the prowl... even as Harvest has stepped in, restoring much of his lost intelligence, but keeping his ferocity...
